AT HOME IN THE WORLD: DAY FOUR
12 AUGUST 2021 - DAY FOUR
LINDOSO
Our next stop was Lindoso in Peneda-Gerês, a nature reserve shared with Spain at the northern border. This little village is home to a medieval castle and a very well preserved cluster of old granite grain stores.
We chose to photograph the Classon Bedside Chest here as we felt there was an interesting parallel of form and function between this piece of furniture and the grain stores. We integrated a prop built from off-cut strips of timber to match the castle’s masonry.
We spent the rest of the day travelling to the next location but took some time to enjoy the beautiful scenic mountain roads in Gerês, so much so that we decided to shoot the Duet Chair with Upholstered Seat in one.
Soon after, we were crossing paths with Garranos wild horses, a breed specific to the mountain ranges of Northern Portugal, peacefully grazing roadside.
