18 AUGUST 2021 - DAY EIGHT
For our final photo shoot we chose the Comporta area. Located between the ocean and the Sado river estuary, and less than an hour from Lisbon, it is a place with beautiful beaches, long stretches of dunes, parasol pine forests and large plains with rice fields. We thought this place would have great potential for creating a striking image of the Commune Coffee Table, and we took the opportunity to visit a friend to ask for tips on the best places to shoot. She directed us to a little trail outside the village where she took her daily morning walks. There we found a beautifully green expanse of rice fields with the dunes and parasol pine forests that border the ocean in the background. We chose to shoot from a low point of view to emphasise the sculptural qualities of the piece against the flatness of the landscape.
