The Ómós guesthouse and restaurant, opened in July 2026 in Ireland by chef Cúán Greene, is a place built on care, patience, and a deep respect for the land. De La Espada is proud to have contributed our craft expertise to the project both through standard De La Espada products and bespoke furniture pieces designed by interior architects Asca Studio and Relief Gallery.
A TRIBUTE TO IRISH IDENTITY & VERNACULAR DESIGN
Ómós is a thoughtful, design-led hospitality experience that centres the landscape and the human experience. Located outside Abbeyleix in County Laois, Ireland, it embraces local history, identity, and resources, combined with an international perspective. A rich tribute to its landscape and local culture and a contemporary expression of vernacular design.
Led by chef Cúán Greene, formerly of Copenhagen’s Noma and Geranium restaurants, Ómós comprises a 16-bedroom restored Victorian guesthouse and 40-seat newly built restaurant, both with interior architecture and furniture by Denmark-based Cassandra Bradfield of Asca Studio and Rebecca Norberg of Relief Gallery. Handcraft and material excellence is a hallmark of the project, benefitting from generations of craft expertise from both local and international craftspeople.
CUSTOM FURNITURE AT ÓMÓS
De La Espada worked closely with the interior architects to bring their bespoke, site-specific furniture designs to life.
Utilising our woodworking and upholstery expertise, we crafted custom tables, chairs, daybeds, sofas, room dividers, and bedside tables that are present throughout the project.
“We’ve been fortunate to go beyond the conventional role of interior designers, collaborating closely with the client and the larger team to shape the project in its entirety, which results in a richer, more layered outcome,” says interior architect Cassandra Bradfield of Asca Studio.
