Located in a private ski community in Big Sky, Montana, this residence, designed by Lauren Weiss Home, reflects the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains surrounding. Floor-to-ceiling windows make a feature of the mountain views, while the abundant use of wood panelling — flooring, ceilings, built-in cabinetry, and furniture — harnesses the warmth of nature. Further natural materials increase the cosiness of the modern interior including wool, linen, mohair, stone, and leather.

Bespoke furniture and specially commissioned artwork is joined by carefully selected furniture pieces including, from De La Espada, Frame Sofa and Solo Oblong Table designed by Neri&Hu; and Elysia Lounge Chair, Nino Ottoman, and Laurel Side Table designed by Luca Nichetto.

Solo Table is a solid wood dining table with purity of form and material. Designed by neri&hu and manufactured by De La Espada for the neri&hu brand.

The Frame series explores the architectural concept of tectonics, celebrating the art of construction. It was developed with the objective to create a single frame that could serve all the needs of the product such as a base, legs, decorative feature, and even practical support for accessories including trays. Made from solid wood, the frame’s appearance reveals clearly how it is constructed through the visible joinery details.

Nino is an ottoman that shares the stylistic principles of the Elysia Lounge Chair, while also complementing the other items in the Nichetto collection. Its solid wood legs showcase its fine material and craftsmanship, while its fusion of wood and upholstered materials is inspired by mid-century design.

Laurel side table is composed of two pure geometric shapes, cone and cylinder, intersecting to create two wide and functional surfaces, distributed at different levels. In keeping with the other elements of the collection, the ratio of the materials used is 50/50, in this case painted hdf for the cone, that appears to balance weightlessly upon the cylindrical marble base.

The perfect synthesis of superior woodwork and fine tailoring is revealed in Elysia. The lounge chair has a solid wood leg construction that cradles the padded shell of the seat and the backrest. The “skeleton”, traditionally hidden inside the upholstery, is deliberately exposed to showcase the craftsmanship and premium timber. The exceptional comfort Elysia offers is visually communicated through the padding enveloping the shell, and the generous folds of fabric on the cushion.
