Ryota Kappou Modern is a high-end restaurant in Central, Hong Kong offering seasonal Japanese cuisine. Designed by Hong Kong-based interior design firm House of Beast, the space reflects a modern Japanese style while making use of traditional Japanese elements such as washi, brass detailing, fine marble slabs, and luxurious industrial cement tiles. Every aspect of the interior was carefully considered from the big picture to the smallest details such as the precise placement of each individual piece of tableware. Guests enjoy a perfectly curated sensorial journey from the thoughtfully executed interiors to the freshest seasonal ingredients and sake pairings. Kimble is a Windsor chair named after a neighbouring village of High Wycome in Buckinghamshire, where the Windsor chair originated. The chair uses traditional Windsor chair making techniques in order to further the story, the evolution of the English Windsor chair. The contrast of the black walnut seat on this otherwise ash chair, attractively highlights the wedge tenon detail where the leg intersects with the top of the seat.
