Belle Reeve is a sofa system by Luca Nichetto with seemingly endless possibilities. The sofa has a deep, low body with brass or stainless steel feet, and a choice of solid wood lattice panels or upholstered panels on the backrests. Different arm and table options combine with the seat modules to break the symmetry of this versatile sofa, allowing for personalised configurations.

Marlon is a table with an understated form that highlights the beautiful contrast of materials. A timber frame supports a marble tabletop set upon slender legs in timber or marble for a table that is visually light yet extremely robust. Each table is formed from numerous segments, creating intriguing design details where the parts intersect.

Gemstones set into jewellery were the starting point for Steve -- a series of upholstered poufs for Luca Nichetto’s eponymous furniture collection for De La Espada. The Steve poufs feature short cast iron legs that support visible wooden structures crowned with upholstery, and are available in two sizes. Perfect as a stand alone piece, Steve can also complement the Blanche, Stanley and Elysia chairs. It continues the aim of the Nichetto Collection to combine heritage styling with contemporary design.

For his Nichetto collection for De La Espada, Luca Nichetto has been reimagining the design language of 1950s American furniture. Kim, a family of nested items including two tables and a bench, is a case in point. Available as a set or as stand alone pieces, the three items in the Kim family share common materials, while each having their own distinct form. Simple but with a strong sense of character, Kim’s finished wooden surfaces straddle the boundaries between the natural and the manmade.

Nino is an ottoman that shares the stylistic principles of the Elysia Lounge Chair, while also complementing the other items in the Nichetto collection. Its solid wood legs showcase its fine material and craftsmanship, while its fusion of wood and upholstered materials is inspired by mid-century design.

Mitch is a cabinet system made from solid hardwood and painted HDF. The lightweight appearance of the cabinet belies the robust structure. Inspired by traditional Venetian doorbells, burnished brass is used for the door pull, for an exciting contrast of materials that nods to the designer’s heritage.

Vivien is a sculptural solid wood chair featuring complex curves and traditional joinery. Crafted using a combination of technology and hand work, large sections of solid wood are machined on a CNC, with additional carving, assembly and finishing all performed by hand. A series of carved wood components are joined with mortise and tenon, creating the appearance of continuous curves, while the visible join lines and beautiful grain patterns reveal the chair’s construction.

Crafted in solid hardwood with polished lacquer accents, Harold is a classic writing desk featuring a tabletop drawer and open storage spaces. The upward curves at the sides of the tabletop are machined from generous planks of premium timber. Slender H-frame legs joined with wedge tenons provide visual levity.

Blanche is an upright reading chair comprised of layers of upholstered shells, the wraparound form offering a sense of privacy. The taut upholstery on the shells is offset by a luxuriously soft seat and slender solid wood legs.

Laurel coffee table is composed of two pure geometric shapes, cone and cylinder, intersecting to create two wide and functional surfaces, distributed at different levels. In keeping with the other elements of the collection, the ratio of the materials used is 50/50, in this case painted hdf for the cone, that appears to balance weightlessly upon the cylindrical marble base.

The exposed solid wood frame is the elegant focal point of Stanley sofa, where the expert woodwork is revealed in the details of the joinery. The taut upholstery of the backrest provides a crisp appearance, while the deep back cushions with generously folded upholstery portray the exceptional comfort the sofa offers.

The perfect synthesis of superior woodwork and fine tailoring is revealed in Elysia. The lounge chair has a solid wood leg construction that cradles the padded shell of the seat and the backrest. The “skeleton”, traditionally hidden inside the upholstery, is deliberately exposed to showcase the craftsmanship and premium timber. The exceptional comfort Elysia offers is visually communicated through the padding enveloping the shell, and the generous folds of fabric on the cushion.
